Promoting your school to Governors & Parents – and Staff
We all want people to like us. A simple statement and its true – its human nature. This also extends to wanting staff, givernors and teachers to like our school, as this attracts pupils to our school, and the more interest – generally the better the school performs, strange but true.
So how do we achieve this?
Its simple…. we sell and promote the school, so that children (sorry learners!), staff and parents want to come to our school, want to govern and want to teach.
A step in this direction was for schools to install large LCD/Plasmas at the reception and foyers. Conceptually this is a great idea, although the thing most people missed is managing the content, and this is the key. Delivering educational currciulum content underpinned by ICT results in video files, picture and audio – so why not display what the children are doing in the reception! This shows what a great environment the children have, and how the technology supports their learning and growth.
To make this possible, we need a system capable of combining all the media produced by the learners and then making it easy to manage and display the content thats been created.
The answer is Apple TV.
Apple TV gives you access to an easy-to-navigate world of content and entertainment. Show off photos and videos of school events, or even movies created by learners.
AppleTV can be part of your school network that allows the use of an HD TV/LCD set to easily view photos, play music and watch video that originates from an Internet service or your local network, by using iTunes to store all your content.
Staff, Parents & Governors can browse and view the content easily. Apple TV is “simple to operate”, content is organised into groups, the main one being Movies, Music & Photos), The Apple Remote is used to navigate through menus by using the up or down buttons and selecting options with the play button so anyone can choose what they want to see and hear!
